Today is one of my favorite days of the year. It is my four legged son’s 11th birthday and it’s Cinco De Mayo. I will be having cupcakes and Mexican food today, what could be better. As a dog mom, it has always been my dream to create a warm, cozy, and beautiful home for my dog (and myself). Moving from a 700 square foot condo in LA with no outdoor space to a 2200 square foot house with a backyard has been great for my little guy. It has also been great for me! Learning how to make a home cozy, functional, and beautiful brings me immense joy, and it’s something I’m constantly learning about with evolving needs and taste.
Lately, I’ve been obsessing over adding more green plants to my deck as Punky loves plants (he loves to smell and taste them, so they must be non-toxic to dogs) and for privacy from my neighbors. This has taken me to various plant nurseries and stores in search of the perfect planters (so far I found two and need several more). My newest obsession is doorknobs. My house is filled with old, round, unlacquered brass door knobs which I love, but they aren’t in great shape and many were painted over (along with the hinges) but the previous owners, which quite honestly makes me nuts. Therefore, I’ve been searching for new doorknobs and I think I found a good resource thanks to
(@thisoakhouse). I know there are many more obsessions and fixes to come, as I still have several things I want to do and get done around here! Here are this week’s interior finds. . .
