I got home from Scandinavia a week ago and have reluctantly settled back into normal life. Last week was spent obsessing over house stuff (shocking), and helping a dear friend with a remodel she’s undergoing. We went marble shopping, and, yes, I wanted to chain myself to a few slabs. This week, we have a few more places to visit and then we will pick the perfect slab for her classic, white kitchen. To accommodate her new dining area, we are looking at tables that can expand from 4 seats to 6-8 when entertaining. This allows for a smaller, daily seating area that isn’t cramped and also leaves room for future storage dreams (drop zone, cubbies, and/or coat hooks). Versatility and maximizing the functionality of a space is key! Work smarter, not harder.
Below are the dining tables we’re considering, which is your favorite? They’re all fantastic to me and really don’t think she can go wrong with any of them!

The post vacation depression has set in and now I’m dreaming of far off places and adventures, but for now I’ll reminisce on a trip I’ll never forget. I went alone knowing no one, said yes to everything, and participated in as much as possible. The laughs were endless, the connections unexpected (such great people), and the cities fabulous. We went to Oslo, Stockholm, and Copenhagen. They were all great for different reasons, but Copenhagen and Stockholm were my favorite and I would’ve loved more time to explore in both.
In Stockholm, I obsessed over the architecture and oversized, brass doorknobs in the Vasa Museum. On a nature walk, we saw beautiful mansions along the water that are now largely embassies and hotels. Gamla Stan was an architectural gem with colorful buildings and narrow, cobblestone streets. And I saw Svenskt Tenn from a distance and was dying to go in, but there was no time.
In Copenhagen, the Christiana neighborhood reminded me of the Venice canals in LA On a walk to the King’s Gardens (stunning), I stumbled on many shops I wanted to check out, including Louise Roe; I love her glassware, vases, and other creations. I also checked out Paustian v Stroget and H&M Home (this was amazing actually). Going to Millefiori Interiors was my dream, but my schedule and theirs didn’t line up and it will haunt me forever. Until next time!
