I’ve always been a homebody and super sensitive to my surroundings. To give context, When I stayed in a hotel that is no longer in NYC, I had nightmares thanks to the red velvet, serial killer, overstimulating vibes of its decor. Therefore, my home is very important to me and it’s important to curate a home that makes me feel really good! At this stage in my life, I spend a lot of time alone (more than I ever thought I would), so I’m always tweaking and obsessing over something. It’s an ongoing project that I may never finish, but I keep telling myself the house is going to evolve as I evolve (and it keeps me company). That might just be my way of justifying my constant fussing with the house. Hehe!
This week I’m focusing on the below:
Putting drawer dividers (I’m trying these) in my closet drawers to better utilize and organize the space. These might be what I really need to do since custom isn’t an option, because they might actually stay put. I’ve learned no drawer divider is perfect (unless it’s costum) and now want to demo my closet.
Ordering a valet rod for my closet. This would be so useful and a fun way of displaying clothes as I get ready!
The door knob to my bedroom is different than EVERY other doorknob in the house and it drives me bananas. All the upstairs bedrooms have gold, round door knobs and my bedroom has a silver lever, which I’m not into (all bedrooms and interior doors should have similar finishes in my opinion). So I’m looking into alternatives that I will need to order and see how they look in comparison to current round knobs (that are very old). Right now, I’m quite into this one, and this looks like a classic but can probably find something similar for less.
See if an electrical bank like this in a bathroom drawer is possible. Doesn’t this seem so luxe? I hate a bunch of stuff on bathroom counters, so the more than can be tucked away the better.
Order a label maker. How do I not have one? Does anyone have suggestions? I’ve seen this one but not sure it’s the vibe.
Look for fun, decorative wall plates. I want to start collecting some wall plates as I want to put some on the wall next to my fireplace on the right (there is only wall to the right of my fireplace as there is a doorway to the left). I love this zodiac one, Punky plate, and this cheeky plate.
