At the end of May, I’m going on an adventure to Scandinavia. First I’ll head to Oslo, then Stockholm, and finish up in Copenhagen. I won’t know anyone I’m traveling with and will be away from home (and my beloved pup) for over a week. BUT I’m so excited, because I’m a BIG fan of Scandi design and can’t wait to see all the architecture and design. Gustavian pieces are some of my all time favorites; I love the elegance, simplicity, and character of these designs. I love the trend of color drenching in soft colors, as seen with Farrow and Ball’s new color Kakelugn, which is Swedish. I love Dutch delft tiles, anything Josef Frank, grand Swedish clocks, the use of botanicals, and these amazing light fixtures I obsess over and hope to see in person in Copenhagen. The list goes on and on.
The amount of geeking out I’m going to be doing is going to be off the charts. Seeing so many things I love in the place where they originated is going to be amazing! Though I’m worried I’m somehow going to end up with an entire shipping container of stuff. Stay tuned!
