By August, I’m ready for summer to be over. Countless days and weekends spent in the same surroundings while people are constantly out of town can be a bit depressing (just this phase of life, I know it won’t be permanent). I’m probably the only person who didn’t go to the beach this summer, so I’ve been dreaming of beach houses and the sound of the ocean from the comfort of my bedroom. If I had a beach house, I would inject if with natural elements, color, funk, and character, but still make it relaxing and comfortable. Nothing can be too precious in a beach house when wet bathing suits sink into couches and sand tracks through the house. I picture my future family and my nephews running around roughing the place up, and one day looking back on that wear and tear fondly after they’ve all grown up.
When dreaming of a beach house, I found myself gravitating towards elements in the below inspiration pictures…
