Keeping Your Shit Together
When it comes to home maintenance and home renovating, organization is essential to success and minimizing stress. This Project Guide for home renovating is amazing. Here is a sample page of what’s in the guide. I hope I’m lucky enough to do a renovation one day, so I can use this guide to manage the project. I have lots of crazy ideas and think I’d learn a ton, because so far owning a home has been a massive learning process for me. For now, I’ll stick to perfecting my home maintenance system (I’m working on a document).
Over the weekend, I obsessed over a lot of house stuff. Cleaning my range hood filters (yes this is a thing you need to do, grease galore), painting areas I patched in my laundry room, looking at landscaping rock and gravel (as I need to add some to what I already have), figuring out planter options for my deck for privacy from neighbors, and fixing metal edging in my backyard that is getting wonky. Being an adult is so weird.
Mostly, I spent the bulk of my time obsessing over paint colors. I’m going to mix things up in my back hallway to breathe some new life into my house. Below is the vibe I’m going for.
Walls will be in Cabbage White, which I have in my toilet closet and love. And the accent color will be Borrowed Light.
I’m still studying (by starring at them constantly at different times of day) my options for a kitchen refresh. I’m currently between Sizing, Kakelugn, and Pavilion Blue. I’m leaning towards one of the first two as I like a blue kitchen with white countertops (what I already have) and I like the Scandi vibe of these two paints.
My idea for a blush ceiling in my all white bathroom to bring in warmth is on hold. I’m not sold on any of the samples I put up, as most of them read too beige or too purple, so the quest will continue at a later date.
