Since I was little, my dad has been collecting art. I grew up with paintings stored under beds and being dragged to galleries. While I didn’t appreciate it growing up, because what child wants to walk 90 blocks in NYC against their will to go look at a painting, I am now attached to that painting my dad gave me for Christmas one year because of the memory (despite my bleeding heels) associated with it. I’ve grown to appreciate art, but I can’t claim to know tons about it. I just know what I’m drawn to and what I like.
Art has become something I’m more and more interested in as I work on curating my home. But buying art is expensive and an investment. However, you can get some really great deals and find things within your budget if you know where to look. Thankfully, my dad knows where to look, so he sent me a list (and I sprinkled in a few from research)! Below are a list of online auctions and sites where you can find great art (and even other goodies) within your specific budget. You might find yourself drawn to specific artists or mediums, take note what sellers/gallerists are selling those pieces and familiarize yourself (there are issues with fakes, but that is a conversation for another day if you’re going to invest in something major). Down the road, you might have a relationship with them that can lead to them offering you a piece before they put it up on their site or add it to their catalog! Happy exploring!

I know it’s early and we haven’t even gotten to Halloween yet, but the holiday season is upon us, which means school functions, lunches, cocktail parties, and family gatherings. I would rather be prepared and have a few festive outfits I can reach for than scramble at the last minute to put something together I don’t even like or worse, don’t feel good in. So I started to pull some festive finds to get our brains in the mood for the casual to the fancy coming our way!
