I would say my home decor style is a mix of contemporary and traditional/antique. I’m super lucky to have a bunch of my grandparents’ old furniture that I’ve mixed with more updated pieces. Influenced by my decade in LA, I lean towards a more neutral palette with pops of color or an added unexpected twist. To me, it’s relaxing and keeps my very busy mind decluttered. But as I evolve, my design aesthetic will surely evolve.
The most important thing to me is how my house FEELS. My house is a place of peace and relaxation for me- not fussy, homey, but still fun. I want people to feel comfortable and not too precious with anything. Kids can run around, dogs can jump on furniture, fingerprints might end up on the walls, a chair might get stained, a water glass might sweat- but isn’t that the point? A house is meant to be lived in and wear and tear gives it character.
